3rd Sea Day
We went to a couple of talks in the morning and then went to the special lunch buffet in the main dining room with ice sculptures and a chocolate fondue fountain. We watched the crew in a pool volleyball competition and then some more talks and an art auction where they auctioned off some the glass blowing pieces.
The boat is still rocking quite a bit and it was difficult to walk in a straight line this morning but my body must have adjusted as I haven't felt at all seasick and no tablets.I have been eating ginger regularly . The seas dont look that bad and the captain said the waves were 7-8ft.
Jim went to a talk about the construction of our ship which he found very interesting. one highlight of the german design was the bow bulb that is in the shape of a dolphin's nose. It is 12 m long just below the water line at the front of the ship and significantly reduces drag. The pictures of the ship being assembled were quite amazing.
At dinner we sat with 4 english people who were travelling together all relatives. We went to up to the hot glass show after sunset as a guitarist was singing to some people lying on the lawn on picnic rugs and those of us watching the show. Then we caught the end of the show in the theatre with a black woman with a shirley bassy style voice. Saw on the news that they had riots again in Athens today right where we had walked yesterday
